It has been a while but I am back with a story to tell. Here at Meridian Garden the men have a ROMEO club. They meet once a month. The letters stand for Retired Old Men Eating Out. The director, a male nurse and the maintenance man always go with them. Chuck likes to go too with his dad. Recently when they returned Chuck said “Mom you are not going to believe this.” They went to a restaurant in a little town north of here. All the guys wear hats with ROMEO on them. They had just been seated when in walked a group of ladies with red hats. One lady said “I want a Romeo”. Harry (he is 99 years old) twirled his hat in the air and said “I am going to auction this off. I may be old but I am not tired yet”.
My friend and her little granddaughter were riding in the back seat of the car. After looking at her grandma for a while, the little girl said “Grandma maybe you should get a facelift”. My friend said “Oh I wouldn’t want to do that. Yhey might get one side higher than the other and then I would look really funny”. The little girl thought about that for a while and then said “I know grandma. Why don’t you try Oil-of-olay”.
This is my favorite picture of my son Randy and daughter-in-law Kat. It was taken about 5 years ago. I will try to find a more recent one. We do not see them as often as we would like to. We are about 1 hour and 45 min from them. We talk on the phone and e-mail. We love them.
This is my son Chuck and Daughter-in-law Carrie. I love them both. They are so good to us. They were here to visit us tonight. This picture was taken last spring in FL. They are counting the days till they can go back this spring.
This is my grandson Jon and his girlfriend Chelsea. They came to see us last week. They were still on vacation from college. It was so much fun to see them. Jon is 6 ft tall. He doesn’t get that from our side of the family. I wish we could see him more often.
Robin is in that far-a-way country of Malaysia. I get on the Battery Dance Co. blog and Robin’s blog every morning to see what she is doing. I am so proud of her!
This is a picture of Cait riding her bike in the snow. It has been really cold and lots of snow where she lives. I think she was just being funny. She looks like she is really bundled up.
Another one!
Had our picture taken recently at Meridian Gardens.
When our son was about 3 years old we took him to see the movie Pinocchio. The next day he asked me what conscience was. I told him when he was going to do something and something told him he should not do that, that was his conscience talking to him. A few days later I noticed him standing in front of an open drawer for a long time. Then I heard him say “oh be quiet conscience”.
